Tanteri Museum

Tanteri Musem is a ceramic museum opened since May 2011. The name of this museum derived from one of the most important figures and has already contributed a lot in the development of ceramics craft in Pejanten area, I Made Tanteri (the former head of Pejanten Village).

Pottery art in Bali is growing rapidly nowadays. Many ceramics studios have produced a variety motifs of product inspired by the natural environment of Bali. Pejaten Village-Tabanan has been known for long time as one of the villages in Bali where many of its citizens have exceptional expertise in pottery. Commonly used motifs and the trademark of Pejaten pottery, are flora & fauna ornaments with soft colors like green moss/ jade.

The Tanteri Foundation established the Tanteri museum with main goal to preserve and develope the art of pottery and ceramics in Bali, by collecting various ancient ceramics and pottery ever made in Pejaten Village and several places in Indonesia. In this museum we can also witness the process of how making ceramics and the development of pottery and ceramic crafts in Pejaten village from old times until this modern days
