The architectural design of the museum is very unique because it is still made of traditional materials such as clay, wall made of bamboo plaits and roof that made from dried reeds on a 300 square meters of land. Inside the museum area, visitors can find a large pavilion called Bale Sang Kul Putih, which is divided into four parts, merajan, bale gede, puaregan and bale dauh karya as places for lontar conservation. Lontar Museum Penaban Village has 400 collections of lontar, which around 150 of them are have been conserved.
