Bali Provincial State Museum

Located right on the east side of Lapangan Puputan Denpasar, this museum has several exhibition halls each showcasing different varieties of historical data from the Mesolithic age to the modern era. You will find vast collections of displays from paintings, artifacts and statues along with inscriptions. There are also weapons used in the bronze age of Bali, some religious items and musical instruments.

The garden inside the museum has well taken care of, makes the visitors feel comfortable strolling around the museum area.

Bali Museum was built on 1910 by Dutch citizens who felt moved to preserve the Balinese Culture artifacts which full with many historical history. In its journey, the museum ever been wrecked because an earthquake that occurred on 1917 and rebuilt on 1920. German artist Walter Spies also has done a lot for the sake of this museum at the early age.

The museum area consists of the temple (puri) which divided into three sections kahyangan, pura, and merajan. The historical and ethnographic storage area itself is divided into three buildings called Tabanan, Karangasem and Buleleng buildings, where inside of those buildings we can find artwork, ethnographic items, ancient texts (inscriptions), ceramics, porcelain statues, household appliances, agricultural tools, weapons, ceremonial tools, paintings, shadow puppets and so forth.

To improve the museum other rooms are also built such as library, reparations rooms (for damaging artifacts , and theater.
