Updates on the total number of positive COVID-19 cases in Bali, 20 March 2020

The accumulative number of observation patients (PDP) keeps increasing in Bali, since the last press conference held on March 17th with 78 people under observation, only 3 days later on Friday, March 20th, there are 90 people reported to be fully observed in Bali hospitals. Out of those 90 patients, it is confirmed there are 4 positive cases detected after further lab check.

As we know, the only one confirmed case in Bali was a British tourist who unfortunately died after a couple days of treatment in Sanglah General Hospital on Wednesday, March 11th 2020. The new 3 cases are male foreign tourist age 72 and Indonesian with age 30 and 39 both male. From further investigation by local authorities these 3 new confirmed Covid-19, were having contact with at least 199 people. 

All these 199 people have been contacted, informed and the swab sample has been taken for further lab tests. These new suspects are quarantined in their homes following a protocol related to quarantine or isolation published by the government.

"The government has worked seriously to deal with this disease, preventing the spread of this disease. The community is instructed to cooperate well, work together and unite with the government to avoid polemics that conflict with one another, " explained the Head of Covid-19 Counter-Task Force in Bali Province, Dewa Made Indra during the press conference. He also urged the entire community to remain calm and not panic or even to be afraid excessively, instead we have to keep calm and follow all the instructions that have been delivered by the governor of Bali.
