REPORT
AMBIESSENCE@Prana Report — January 22nd, 2004
The Prana Spa changed its atmosphere into a multi culturistic bazaar/festival with our setting. The garden area had huge visual screens, lots of white Hindu-Balinese flags as another visual screen, some beautiful 3-colored textile decorations, lots of cushions and comfy mattresses on the Arabian rugs, six Bali-based designers' limited outlet market, a fresh Sushi station, a Tarot Reading corner, a Bali-based painter's one-night gallery, a silent auction and many door prizes.
Even Prana spa's stylish entrance lounge became a 15-minute massage corner with experienced Balinese therapists lighting candles; relaxing with smooth vibe with musical saga by DJs and visuals by VJ Josh, enjoying the food, drinks, art, even shopping, etc. And this was only 1 of the 2 sound system zones!
Zone 2 — the Yogi Room was located up-stairs: this area presented a totally unique, stunning, and very fresh way of the "music/visual alchemy". We set up three huge white trancepairantal mosquito nets (4m across each) and all white mattresses and cushions under the nets. Each mosquito net connected to each other in twisted angles and two LCD projectors projected deeply imaginative visuals (created by "Landman" VJ Juan) on those nets. People sitting inside of these "images" reflected in multi-dimensional way even became part of the images.
Prana started filling with people soon after we opened the gate at 7:00 pm. After two hours, people were everywhere –– relaxing, enjoying the gentle approaches to their ears and eyes, smiling, and walking around with their kids. Three video shooting teams (one from Air Paradise, one from Zoom magazine/TV, and one from Art Quest DVD projects), many different nationalities and groups of people, from 5-star resort hotel's GMs and business people to the most edgy artists, designers as well as travelers, hippies, and yappies, all in the one big peaceful miso soup!
10 DJs made one big musical saga, Sylvius who was on the boat of IDEP (Bali, Ubud based NGO) last week gave 6-minute presentation with photos which he just brought back from Aceh.
This harmonic vibe went on until 2:30 am. We had 300 visitors who paid 50,000 Rp for one candle each at the door, 100 volunteer contributors including DJs, VJs, artist, designers, equipment providers, decoration teams, technical engineers, massage therapists, etc. The event raised about 45-50m Rp. from the entrance fee (candle sales), donations, auction profits, market profits, Bar profits (Prana/The Villa's owner Jim donated all of tonight's bar profits .. big thanks Jim!! You are amazing!!) We will account the exact amount in one week with the Seminyak Rotary Club and then will send the funds off to a few separate organisations (NGOs). We will provide up-dated information as soon as possible.
Thanks to everyone, especially to the main organizing team members: Chrissie (Prana), Sue (Vision1), Liat (Down to Earth), Chiemi (Hikari), Isabella (baliweddingplanners.com), Libby (Balistarz), Tina & Josh (promotion events), and Juan (Landman). Without your endless, tireless support and work, this would never happened!

CONCEPT
This is a co-ordinated series of events in various cities around the world that had been proposed by Jakarta based Future productions and Wing Project. They are in direct contact with doctors in Aceh who are constantly updating them as to what medicines and other supplies are most vital. Already they have raised funds and the first shipment of medicines has gone to Aceh.
Confirmed cities are London, Berlin, Jakarta, Bali, Sydney, Tokyo, Taipei, Shanghai and San Francisco. Instead of wasting time and valuable resources flying artists and equipment around the world, we intend to work with the best local artists and technicians available at the time plus any foreign artists who happen to be visiting those places.
WE WILL GENERATE AN INSPIRING AND POSITIVE WAVE MOVING WITH THE TIME ZONES ACROSS THE PLANET FROM TOKYO TO SAN FRANCISCO.
This event will be with ambient music, lots of candles and projections. Ambient music is not only most appropriate for this tragic situation but means also we don't have to rely on powerful sound systems.
